The thread of life is a delicate thing. It is so easily broken...
The Children of Wisdom Trilogy eBook Stephanie Erickson
I originally received these books as ARCs before they were released. I liked them so much, I bought two sets after they came out as a collection. I would recommend these to people of any age. The books don't contain graphic language, sex, or violence and they prove that they're not needed in order to spin a good tale. Stephanie takes her characters on a rollercoaster ride that stretches from the highest heavens, down to earth, and even the very pits of hell. You'll fall in love with Penn and the rest of the characters. While I was reading these books the first time, I had to wait until the next one came out, rather impatiently I might add. You won't have to! They're all together!Product details

The Children of Wisdom Trilogy eBook Stephanie Erickson Reviews
I really enjoyed these books, they are totally out of my usual genre but sounded so intriguing I had to try them. And from the first words I was hooked!
Interesting speculation on Heaven and Hell. Very easy read, but enough conflict to keep it interesting. Some of the numbers don't make sense, but I decided to assume I just didn't have all the facts. Just to be fair I should state that I am probably more critical than most reviewers. If I don't get into the book by about 10%, I'm done and it will get 1 or 2 stars. If I finish that means I liked it and at least 3 stars. If I thought it was great then 4 stars. In the thousands of books I've read I have given out a few 5 stars.
Greek mythology meets Judeo-Christianity as a backdrop to a murder mystery, with a pure love story thrown in. I loved following the main charcter. Somehow Erickson makes the image of a heavenly tailor creating the ultimate wedding dress into an intruiging and unforgettable scene. The characters were all believable as humans, even when they weren't human. I couldn't even hate the witch. What mother in her position wouldn't rail at God given the chance? This is an excellent story. The only thing I didn't like is the break up into a trilogy - it's one story.
Favorite quote "The only thing that puts a smile on my face is the thought of returning to Earth."
I read a lot of fantasy as an escape from reality and this is one of the best series I have read. The characters are well developed and you cannot help but fall in love, want to scold them, and hug them all at once. I don't consider myself an overly religious person but some parts made me think hard about the hereafter and shed a few tears.. Definitely a different story line and not your typical novel. Loved it...
This collection is not the type I normally read; however, I am so glad I did. Everything about it (premise, characters, storyline, etc.) is unique, wonderfully developed and integrated, and expertly written. I highly recommend this series and will definitely look for more by this author.
I absolutely loved this series and did not want it to end! I have told absolutely anyone who will listen how great a read this was. I read hundreds of books a year and they do tend to blend in with each other. Not this! I will not soon forget Penn, Kismet, Michaela and the world so skillfully created on these pages.
I am an editor for my own dear friends trilogy and reading the acknowledgements were especially telling as I hear the same from my author esp in giving the credit where credit is due...first and foremost to her own Creator.
I have already downloaded the Unseen trilogy and am about to start on it now.
Well done and a well deserved (and rare) 5 star rating from me.
I enjoyed reading this series of books and I have a great bit of respect for the writer. We are given details about each character as you read through the series but nothing really definitive to start out. That said by the end you are genuinely in love with the main characters and rooting for them.
