Box Set of 3 Gotcha Detective Agency Mysteries edition by Jamie Lee Scott Romance eBooks
The three books put together are only 519 pages so each story is barely 200 pages but perfect for a beach read. Each books moves the story forward from the romance between Nick and Mimi to the endless victims Mimi comes across. The author doesn’t hold anyone back from developing Mimi as a person discovering who she is a Private Detective and what she wants in her love life. Jamie Lee Scott creates vivid murder scenes that cause the reader to feel for Mimi and everything she sees and feels. There is the right amount of humor and romance to balance out the murders. Each books is a perfect murder mystery story with you guessing who the murder might be. I have to admit I was pretty sure who the murder was in the first book but I also take pride in discovering who the killer is before everyone else.
Out of the three books I really enjoyed the second one because with children you forgot the world of technology they live in and the author makes sure you realize how dangerous the technology when it comes to our children and the sexual predators who are searching for them. I like that Jamie Lee Scott flushed out Charles character more and I found I really like him more than the first book. Jamie Lee Scott also flushes out all of her characters though each book and you find yourself caring for everyone who works for Mimi.
Each book could stand along because the author makes sure the reader is never lost and wondering who everyone is and what they are doing in the books.
The series is well worth the buy and I plan on reading her next books in the Gotcha series.

Box Set of 3 Gotcha Detective Agency Mysteries edition by Jamie Lee Scott Romance eBooks Reviews
I got the first book because it was free, but it was pretty well written and it kept me interested so I bought the boxed set so I could find out if something was in store for the private detective and the homicide detective. I won't give it away so you will have to read the books too. I am definitely going to get the next set of books as well!
I enjoyed this series from the first book until the last one. Hope to see more. Ms. Scott has brought the "real" into her characters. She also addresses issues that are relevant - sometimes disturbing - but issues we need to think about in today's world. I especially appreciated the book that focused on young people and their access to the internet. There was a lesson there to parents and grandparents (like me) to always be aware of what our kids are doing and who they are talking to.
Every book was enjoyable to read with just enough twists and turns to keep the reader engaged. Mimi Capurro is the owner of Gotcha Detective Agency located on the Central Coast of California. She is a former Secret Service agent. Her husband Dominic was killed in a plane crash a year after they were married and she is still dealing with the pain of that experience. The characters are well developed, plots are believable and just intense enough to keep the reader on the edge. Great books for a weekend getaway.
I really liked this series, as the books are light and very entertaining, with likeable characters. Mimi is the owner of a private detective agency that takes on cases that for some reason turn out to be a little crazy. I love her friend Jackie and Charles that become essential to each story and add a lot of humor.
Nick, Mimi's sort of love interest, is great even when is not so attentive to Mimi and at times is more on the distant side. They have a lot of chemistry and the relationship develops over time which is great because there is a lot of potential for a great storyline. The only thing I wish about those two is that would have a little bit more steamy moments.
Gotcha is the name of this detective agency, but it is also what happens as your tale unfolds. This set contains the first three books in this series, they do make reference to that in each story, but the way it is done makes sense. Sure, you could read any one of the three out of order, but by reading the set you gain insight into the characters in a logical, cohesive manner. Well thought out plots and story lines, plenty of surprises and enough odd twists to provide realism. I was a PI for over twenty years, doing criminal defense work, so am familiar with the reality. These are enjoyable, fun reading and a bargain as well. You will be glad they gotcha.
I first read the first novel in a compilation & fell in love with the main character, Mimi. She is hilarious, down-to-earth & relatable. The only thing that gives me pause is her Secret Service background, which is only hinted at in the third book but otherwise is non-existent storyline-wise.
Charles is hilarious and gives the best comic relief. I have a couple of friends just like him & I crack up with his antics -- because my friends behave the same way. -). And I love the author's sense of justice; her using story lines involving Mimi solving murders of people we hate a pedophile & a hate-filled woman that made money terrorizing former business partners, while acknowledging & saying all of the things we would say if we didn't always have to be politically correct when someone like that dies. So deliciously vengeful!
Mimi opened Gotcha after the death of her husband Dominic in a plane crash. Nick is a former friend/lover from college who now works in homicide. They cross paths a for the first time in ten years at a murder scene.
This set chronicles their nebulous relationship as Mimi continues to find bodies and work cases, surrounded by her long time best friends. It kept me engaged, hoping for more and disappointed when things didn't gel. I can't say more without giving too much away. But if you are looking for a light read, with mild humor, this fits that category. And if you enjoy a series like the early Stephanie Plum by Evanovich, sans Ranger, this one may be for you. As an HEA junkie, after reading descriptions and reviews for the next two episodes, I will be stopping here.
Highlight It's no different than the public relations department would've done if they'd thought of it first. Who do you think writes those five star reviews on ?
